Beyond laughter

I intend to do a meditation. I sit still and try to clear my mind. But I feel the urge to laugh. And I start laughing. I laugh loud and continuously for more than 15 minutes. I cannot stop.

Finally, I know it’s time to stop and relax. I feel great silence inside of me. Everything is bright and clear and I need no thoughts, I need no words, I do not even need to breathe. In this moment I have everything. I am completely free.

I bet you’ve heard how good laughter is for your health and that “laughter is the best medicine”. We all know the benefits of laughter.

Just to name a few:

  • It releases a cocktail of happiness hormones in our bodies, like serotonin and endorphin. Serotonin makes us feel in a good mood and endorphin, besides making us feel happy, also acts as a natural painkiller.
  • It reduces the secretion of stress hormones, like cortisol, adrenalin and dopamine. This way stress has no place in our body.
  • Laughter also strengthens our immune system by increasing the levels of antivirus cells and immunoglobulin.
  • With laughter we massage our inner organs and relax more than 80 muscles in our body.
  • It is also a great cardio training – it increases the frequency of pumping out blood by the heart. 1 minute of heartfelt laughter equals 10 minutes of cardio training in the gym.
  • It regulates blood pressure.
  • It is an aerobic training, too. When we laugh, the air comes out of our mouths with 100 km/h. This increases the gas exchange up to 4 times. We exhale all the stagnant air, and our cells receive the fuel they need – fresh oxygen.
  • Laughter also improves blood circulation and metabolism, as well as the blood supply for the brain. We get better blood supply for our arms and legs.
  • It improves digestion and helps clean out more toxins from the body. The body burns out more calories, because of the increased flow of oxygen. So this is also the most pleasant way to lose weight.
  • It reduces blood sugar levels.
  • It improves sleep and appetite.
  • It helps overcome feelings of fear and depression.
  • Makes the skin look fresh and smooth.
  • Improves our tonus and energy.
  • Reduces the symptoms of different illnesses.
  • Etc., etc.

Laughter is an amazing thing and you can use it as a therapy for almost anything.

I have been practicing and teaching laughter yoga and laughter therapy for almost 10 years.

But have you tried to go beyond laughter. When you laugh beyond the limits and ideas for healthy living. When you laugh with intention to feel the very vibrations and frequencies of your body and dissolve them. This is when magic happens! Because you go beyond your body, beyond your mind and beyond the ideas for limits.

This is how laughter can set you free.

Would you like to try?

I recommend starting small, especially if you have no experience with laughter therapy or laughter yoga. There are laughter yoga clubs around the world, so you can look for one near you or try laughter sessions online [Link].

When you learn some strategies, you will discover your own pace and way to laugh. Some people do it naturally, others have blockages in their minds and need more time. Everyone is unique, so you need to find your own path.
